Tower Defence

I am not normally one to post about great flash games but when Frank Arr twittered about Desktop Tower Defense, I had a few seconds to spare so I thought I would have a look.

...

after about five minutes I realized that I would not put this down unless I stopped right now! So I decided to check it out infront of the telly later....

...

Well there goes three hours of my life - yes the TV was on but I wasn't watching it! I was cursing the creeps that kept coming wave after wave.. Especially those flying waves!!

Anyway, enough rambling - just a warning, do not play this game!

Want to be in Google Earth? What are you doing on Australia Day?

Google have announced that they are commissioning new high res photos of Sydney to be used in google earth and google maps and more importantly that these photos will be taken on Australia Day, this Friday. It gets better, they are even going so far as to tell you exactly when each photo will be taken so you can pose for your overhead shot! for more info, check out their web page. Put yourself on the map for Australia Day!

Synergy for Mac and PC

I often find myself with two computers on my desk and struggle to make the mouse pointer jump across to the other screen which never actualy works as they are different computers.

Enter Synergy It is a neat little app that allows you to attach that other computer as another screen of the one you are using!

Just set up the machine you use the most as the server and then run the client on the other machine. With a little config you specify which computer is on the right or left of what and away you go!

The only hard thing to remember is that the windows key and the apple keys are do different things ( still need to get my head around apple+c and control+c are both paste!)

CFDump for javascript

I know i am most probably a little late in the game but I don't do much Javascript work these days. I have just been debugging some google map code and I cam across this cfdump for Javascript from a local Sydney company, Net Grow.

thanks guys!

Use airtunes for anything!

I love the iTunes/AirTunes combo, so much so that I have manage to get the office to buy Airport expresses as access points but i have always felt annoyed that you can't use them for any music, just iTunes music.

This means that I am stuck when it comes to listening to my last.fm stream, it doesn't come into iTunes, so headphones it is. Until I found this nice little hack/app called airfoil - it hijacks the audio stream that come from the last.fm player and sends it straight to any airtunes speakers! How cool is that?

Ok, so it is not free but $25 is not much to ask for audio freedom

24 Sleeps to go...

It is December and another year has rushed by! St Nick has had a hard year, I say him driving a 442 bus into the city this evening. Maybe he needs some extra cash to keep things moving!

Well done Sydney busses for letting their drivers do crazy things like that.

example.com

In the "you learn somthing every day" bucket, I found out that example.com is a reserved domain name! According to RFC 2606 you can use this domain for testing! How cool is that?

What have you done for your boss today?

Well if you hang around the RedBalloon offices enough you defiantly see a few weird things but today, well it tops the lot. It all started off normally, a quiet company meeting with the usual boring company meeting things& Until a huge, leather wearing, tattoo covered biker dude struts in wearing a tshirt with the boss photo on it! Two minutes later she was on the back of a Harley and out of our meeting! Great for her (and great for the rest of us - it is amazing how quickly your meeting ends after an event like that!)

If you need to get rid of your boss for a few hours (or want to get away from the boss) Check it out on GoDo
